Our History…

On December 14, 2008, Most Worshipful Grand Master Reverend Dr.
Michael R. Moore disseminated a communication to the Jurisdiction of
Florida stating that on December 31, 2008, The Most Worshipful Union
Grand Lodge of Florida withdrew recognition and the Charter of
Bethlehem Grand Chapter, Order of the Eastern Star as an affiliated
organization; henceforth, on January 1, 2009, Jerusalem Grand Chapter was formed. Grand Master Moore appointed the following as principal officers of The Jerusalem Grand Chapter, Order of the Eastern Star Prince Hall Affiliated:

Sister Alma R. Cornish, Grand Worthy Matron

Brother Leanders Harvey, Grand Worthy Patron

Sister Tracy Thomas, Grand Associate Matron

Sister Mary Caldwell-Williams, Grand Conductress

Sister Yvonne Minus, Grand Associate Conductress

Sister Joyce Trobridge, Grand Treasurer

Sister Paula Roberts, Grand Secretary

Grand Master Moore stated that chapters or individuals wishing to
affiliate with Jerusalem Grand Chapter had to submit a letter to him and would be given a new chapter number only if they retained their current chapter name. If a new chapter was formed, then the chapter would choose their name but would be given a number assigned by Grand Master Moore. Within five (5) months, Jerusalem Grand Chapter had grown to over 2,000 members and 95 subordinate chapters. Today, she is still growing and extending the Olive Branch of Peace throughout the Jurisdiction of Florida and still, “Setting the Standard of the Star.

Mission Statement

Striving for Order of the Eastern Star excellency through education, training, dedication, and commitment. Going forward, the objectives and goals of the current administration are as follows:

 Payback – we will honor our senior members, never forgetting the sacrifices they made to sustain our existence.

 Investment – we will ensure that our youth are supported spiritually, emotionally, and financially in their pursuits of excellency.

 Development – we are partnered with the Most Worshipful Union Grand Lodge of Florida in providing our membership with the highest-level masonic experiences in education, charitable giving, and fraternal socialization.

The Jerusalem Grand Chapter continues to extend the Olive Branch of peace, harmony, unity, insight, and love to those seeking a more extended diffusion of the principles of morality and friendship. As well as to those seeking "light" and to those who are well calculated by temperament and principle. To understand and appreciate its beauty and work out patiently and untiringly the grand design of the Order of the Eastern Star.
