About Jerusalem Grand Chapter

Our History

December 14, 2008, Most Worshipful Grand Master Reverend Dr. Michael R. Moore disseminated a communication to the Jurisdiction of Florida stating that on December 31, 2008 The Most Worshipful Union Grand Lodge of Florida withdrew recognition and the Charter of Bethlehem Grand Chapter Order of the Eastern Star as an affiliated organization. On January 1, 2009 Jerusalem Grand Chapter was formed by Most Worshipful Grand Master Reverend Dr. Michael R. Moore

Grand Master Moore appointed the following as principal officers of Jerusalem Grand Chapter Order of the Eastern Star:

  • Sister Alma R. Cornish, Grand Worthy Matron
  • Brother Lee Harvey, Grand Worthy Patron
  • Sister Tracy Thomas, Grand Associate Matron
  • Sister Mary Caldwell-Williams, Grand Conductress
  • Sister Yvonne Minus, Grand Associate Conductress
  • Sister Joyce Trobridge, Grand Treasurer
  • Sister Paula Roberts, Grand Secretary

Grand Master Moore stated that chapters or individuals wishing to affiliate with Jerusalem Grand Chapter had to submit a letter to him and would be given a new chapter number only if they retained their current chapter name. If they formed a new chapter, then the chapter chose their name and was then given a number by Grand Master Moore.

Within five months, Jerusalem Grand Chapter Order of the Eastern Star had grown to over 2000 members and 95 subordinate chapters. Today it is still growing. Jerusalem Grand Chapter is truly extending the Olive Branch of Peace throughout the Jurisdiction of Florida.
